A Pink Restaurant : MaMa Kelly Amsterdam

Pink Restaurant MaMa Kelly Amsterdam 1

Designed by restaurant design firm De Horecafabriek, MaMa Kelly Amsterdam is 1,000 square feet, an all-pink restaurant for 230 people serving only chicken and lobster.

After years of developing and designing restaurant concepts, De Horecafabriek founder Rein Rambaldo and his wife Willemien joined forces with seasoned local restaurateurs, Singha Witteman and Bas Bloemink, to design the first MaMa Kelly in The Hague in 2010. The team completed the restaurant in Amsterdam in 2017.

A Pink Restaurant : MaMa Kelly Amsterdam

The 800 square meter and 200 seat MaMa Kelly is located in an industrial area outside The Hague in a former cigarette factory. Funky industrial vibes, exposed piping, blue-toned interiors. They chose chicken as one of their main menu items as it is a widely accepted favorite. They chose lobster as a colleague, which later gained popularity in Dutch restaurants and decided to base their menu on these two ingredients. Once the systems were handled by hand, the owners decided to expand it to the Amsterdam area. Pink MaMa Kelly is the result of this decision.

Pink is Willemien’s favorite color, and since most restaurant decisions are made by women, the team focused on that. They also encountered several pink restaurants that inspired them in their research. You can make reservation for Mama Kelly by clicking here..
