Artificial intelligence, which has been mentioned a lot lately, can take your job from you. Experts warn that artificial intelligence leaves many well-paid finance, education and journalism workers vulnerable.
Artificial intelligence, the horror element of science fiction movies, has really approached the level of fear. But that fear has become the fear of leaving many workers unemployed. The capabilities of artificial intelligence are so promising that Microsoft has put 10,000 jobs on its agenda. Microsoft announced that it’s making a “long-term, multi-billion-dollar investment” in revolutionary technology that’s getting smarter every day.
Experts warn that artificial intelligence leaves many well-paid finance, education and journalism workers vulnerable.
“Artificial intelligence is replacing white-collar workers. I don’t think anyone can stop it,” said Pengcheng Shi, vice dean of the Rochester institute of technology.
Shi; He said a number of sectors are currently vulnerable, such as the financial sector, healthcare, publishing.
ChatGPT, the chatbot that was released to the public for free in November, has already turned some businesses upside down.
It was revealed that he was using ChatGPT when a graduate student in the USA was caught cheating. But the shocking part was that the AI scored higher than the majority of the students.
Chinmay Hegde, an associate professor of computer science and electrical engineering at New York University, said Hick and many others are right to be concerned.
“Some jobs in industries such as journalism, higher education, graphics and software design are under threat from artificial intelligence,” Hegde said.
Here are some of the jobs most vulnerable to fast-learning and ever-evolving technology:
EDUCATION
Shi said ChatGPT, which is currently banned in schools in New York, “can easily teach classes already.” Shi added that AI would likely be most effective at the middle or high school level because these classes reinforce skills already established in elementary school.
“While it has errors and inaccuracies in terms of information, this can be easily improved. Basically, you just need to train ChatGPT,” said Shi.
FINANCE
“Advancement of AI at this rate will cause many departments in the financial world to shut down,” Shi told NYPost.
“I definitely think it will affect the business side,” said Shi. “But even in an investment bank, people are recruited from university and spend two or three years working like robots, modeling Excel. You can get artificial intelligence to do that. Much, much faster than humans. ” said.
But Shi is confident that even without the datasheets, important financial and economic decisions will likely always remain in the hands of the people.
SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
Hegde warned that website designers and engineers responsible for relatively simple coding risk becoming obsolete.
Hegde said, “I worry about such people. Now I can ask ChatGPT to create a website for me. Any person whose job is to make websites is no longer needed.”
At its core, AI can craft code that is hand-tailored to the user’s wishes and parameters to build sites and other IT pieces.
Shi said that relatively uncomplicated software design jobs will be a thing of the past by 2026 or sooner.
“As time passes, there will probably be no need for software engineers whose job it is to know how to code, today or in the next 3 to 10 years,” Shi said.
JOURNALISM
According to Hegde, artificial intelligence, text editing is a job in which he is highly qualified. ChatGPT is also excellent at designing its own titles, Hedge said.
Hedge added that “artificial intelligence’s inability to fact-check text is a salvation for reporters and editors, at least for now.”
GRAPHIC DESIGN
In 2021, ChatGPT developer OpenAI released another tool, DALL-E, that can create custom images from user-generated prompts on command. According to Hegde, this tool has posed a threat to many in the graphic and creative design industries, along with its peers such as Craiyon, Stable Diffusion, and Midjourney.
Hegde said, “Previously, you would ask a photographer or graphic designer to prepare an image. Now it is very easy to create images thanks to artificial intelligence.”
