The number of Turks who took refuge in Germany increased by 383 percent.
While the UN says “Turkey is the country that receives the most immigrants in the world” and announces that one out of every 23 people in Turkey is a migrant, Turks are leaving the country.
The United Nations Migrant Assistance Center (UNO) announced that Turkey is the country that receives the most refugees and migrants in the world. According to UNO, one out of every 23 people in Turkey is a migrant and the number of immigrants has reached 5 million.
While Syrians led the migration to Turkey, 322,000 refugees came from Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Iran. While the number was increasing day by day, the Turks started to break the record of escaping to Europe.
ASYLUM EXPLOSED, A LOT OF LEAKAGES
While the number of Turks who took refuge in Germany was 6254 last year, this figure has increased to 23,938 at the end of 2022.
These do not include fugitives from Germany and other countries who do not seek legal asylum or asylum, i.e. unidentified fugitives. The number of Turks who came to Germany alone with them exceeds 100 thousand. While the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees announced the figures for 2022, the one-year increase in the asylum of Turks exceeded 383 percent.
The last asylum record from Turkey in Germany came after the bloody coup attempt in 2016. It is stated that the new migrations are now social and economic, and Turks chose Germany for better living conditions.
WHEN IT INCLUDES OTHER COUNTRIES…
It is not known how many Turks have taken refuge in countries such as England, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Austria, Italy and Spain apart from Germany. It is thought that the total number of asylum seekers has reached 100 thousand in the last year.
While Syrians, Afghan, Iranian and Iraqi people come to Turkey, Turks also prefer Europe.
While Turks broke a record in asylum requests to Germany, the total number of asylum seekers increased by 47 percent in 2022. Within a year, 217,774 people applied for asylum. These figures do not include Ukrainians because they are given some form of legal status and do not have to seek asylum.
Last year, Syrians with 70.976, Afghans with 36,383 and Turks with 23,938 took the first place of asylum seekers from Germany, followed by Iraqis and Georgians.
MEASURES ARE TAKEN AT THE BORDERS
Due to the intensifying irregular migration and influx of refugees, Germany started to take measures at the borders.
Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said, “We have taken and are taking many measures to better control and organize the migration to Germany”, while border controls with Austria were increased.
The border with the Czech Republic is more tightly controlled. Inspections on trains have been tightened in Switzerland, and efforts are being made to renew the visa agreement with Serbia accordingly.
