The Quote500 2022 list, which lists the 500 richest people in the Netherlands, has been announced. In general, it was seen that the 500 richest people in the country increased their wealth. The total assets of the five hundred people on the list increased by 4.7 percent to almost 230 billion euros. The 25-year-old auto racer Max Verstappen, who made it to the list, stood out as the youngest rich man.
Top five names on the list
Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken is at the top of the Quote 500 list, with assets of 12.8 billion euros. The value of Carvalho-Heineken’s assets last year was 13.5 billion euros.
Hunter Douglas Group CEO Ralph Sonnenberg, which was in fifth place with a wealth of 3.6 billion euros last year, has risen to second place with a wealth of 6.2 billion euros this year.
There is no change in the third place of the list compared to last year. Frits Goldschmeding, the founder of Randstad, which ranked third with a fortune of 5.6 billion euros only last year, has a wealth of 5.2 billion euros this year.
In the fourth place of the list is the couple Gérita and Inge Wessels, who are in the construction industry and have a fortune of 4.9 billion euros. The wealth of the Wessel couple, who own the Volkers & Wessels construction company, was 4.3 billion euros last year.
Real estate entrepreneur and investor Remon Vos, which was in the second place in 2021 with a fortune of 5.7 billion euros, has fallen to the fifth place with a wealth of 4.4 billion euros this year.

Companies that invest in real estate or oil have been successful. Prince Bernhard van Oranje-Nassau entered the Quote 500 with a total capital of 125 million euros, thanks to his investments in real estate.
The Quote 500 list ended with speedway driver Max Verstapen. Verstappen, who entered the list at the age of 25 with a fortune of 120 million euros, also draws attention as the youngest richest.
Famous names in the media and their fortunes
John de Mol, one of the names we are used to seeing on the list apart from Verstappen, is on the list with a fortune of 2 billion euros and Joop van den Ende is on the list with a fortune of 1.6 billion euros. Breda musician DJ Tiesto, whose real name is Tijs Verwest, draws attention with a fortune of 180 million euros.

The business magazine Quote keeps a list of the richest families in the Netherlands as well as individuals. The second richest family in the Netherlands is the Van der Vorm family, who runs the investment firm HAL, which owns a number of shares including Boskalis, Coolblue and Vopak. The fortune of this family is 8.6 billion euros. The third family on the list is the Kruidvat owner De Rijcke family.
