While the wave of freedom started as a result of the murder of Mahsa Amini in Iran continued, 650 girls were poisoned to go to school.
A UK -based BBC study revealed that at least 650 girls in Iran were poisoned to not go to school. A senior Iranian authority confirmed that girls were particularly targeted.
“There are those who want to close the schools where girls go”
The girls did not die, but dozens of respiratory problems, dizziness and fatigue were taken to hospital with complaints. Iranian Deputy Minister of Health, who held a press conference on February 26, Yunus Panahi said, “It seems that some want to close all schools, especially girls’ schools,” he said.
Girls poisoned in the last three months told me that they had smelled tangerine or rotten fish. “The materials used in poison are made up of products that can be found in the market, Dr. Panahi added that the poisons are not lethal and should not cause panic. Panahi said that his statements were misunderstood later.
In the BBC’s research, Panahi’s statements were misunderstood.
Most cases are in the Mullah center in Kum city
The place where the most cases are seen is the conservative sand city. But in eight cities across the country, more female students were poisoned. The public’s reaction is increasing.
The first poisoning was seen on 30 November 2022 when 18 students from Nur Technical High School in Kum were hospitalized. Since then, more than 10 girls’ schools have been targeted in the province. In mid -February, a protest was organized in front of the Governor’s Office in Kum with at least 100 people.
“Girls want them not to leave their homes”
In one of the videos shared on social media, a father said, ız You are obliged to ensure the security of my children! I have two daughters. And the only thing I can do is not to send them to school .. If a woman in the same protest is, “This is a war! They want to force us not to get out of the house by doing this to Girl High School in Kum. Girls want to leave their homes! ” says.
Some parents say that the healing of their children has found weeks.
In another video, a woman who accompanies her daughter in the hospital bed “Dear mothers. I’m a mother and my child is in the hospital bed. The limbs are weakened. I sink my nail, it doesn’t feel. Please do not send your children to school, ”he says.
Conservative Zone: Sand City
The attacks concentrated in Kum, known as the city of the religious leaders of Shiite Islam. This is the backbone of the Islamic Republic. But the influence of religious leaders has been questioned since Mahsa Amini died at the police station in autumn.
Some Iranians question whether the attacks on young girls have revenge on mass anti -government protests. In the photos shared on social media, high school students tear their headscarves.
Some of them think that these attacks could be made by extreme conservatives who took example, the Taliban in the neighboring country and Boko Haram in Nigeria.
Due to the increase in attacks on female students in both countries, many parents have to accept not to send their daughters to school. Former Iran Vice President Muhammad Ali Abtahi, in a sharing on Instagram, “Iran Boko Haram came?” said.
He added that the reformist politician Abtahi radical Islamists will try to draw the borders drawn by the government and religion in their favor. While the Iranian regime was ignoring the criticisms of the headscarf so far, she was boasting the increase in women’s university reading rate.
But if female students cannot finish high school, they will not have the opportunity to enter the university.
A girl who said that she was poisoned twice in Kum and met with the governor of Kum, complained about the ambiguity of the authorities: “The authorities say they were conducting an investigation. But when my father went to school, they said that the cameras have been broken for a week, so he couldn’t record it for poisoning.
