Dutch Railways (NS) will start renting e-bikes from the end of September. The company previously offered regular bike rentals.
According to RTL’s report, 30 e-bikes will initially appear at four stations. This first process will take 1 year. It is certain that some of the e-bikes will be located at the Driebergen-Zeist station. However, it is not yet known where the other three stations will be.
While normal bikes are 4.15 euros to rent, e-bikes will be rented for 10 euros for 24 hours. For usage exceeding three days, an additional 5 euros will be added per day.
The most important difference between e-bike and regular bike rental is the station where the bike is delivered. E-bikes have to be delivered to the station where the rental service is made. On the other hand, normal bikes can be left at any station after being used.
In addition, NS states that bikes will always have a full battery and users do not need to charge the bikes.
Finally, unlike regular bikes, e-bikes will have GPS. This will prevent the bikes from getting lost. E-bikes can travel up to 110 km in economy mode, much faster than normal bikes.

Schiphol will offer security guards a new salary to end the chaos at the airport
Robert Carsouw, chief financial officer of Schiphol Airport, said that after the final salary negotiations, they plan to make a new offer to the security guards within two weeks.
