Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that they would not compromise their territory in any potential peace deal with Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky argued that sacrificing territory could mean Russia’s “repeated return” and that Western weapons bring peace closer.
Noting that the expected spring attack has already started, Volodymyr Zelenski said, “Russian attacks have already started from several directions.”
Stating that Ukrainian forces can resist the advance of Russian forces until they carry out a counterattack, Zelensky reiterated his call for more military assistance from the West.
“Of course, modern weapons accelerate peace. “The only language Russia understands is weapons,” he said.
Zelenski met with the British Prime Minister and EU leaders last week as part of his search for international support. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that “everything is on the table” when the Ukrainian leader wanted modern warplanes.
But the Kiev administration is increasingly uneasy about the pace of arrival of Western weapons. It is stated that it may still take weeks for the tanks promised by many Western countries, including Germany, the USA and the UK, to go to the front last week.
RESPONSE TO BELARUS
Zelensky also responded to Belarusian leader Alexsandr Lukashenko’s threat that if even a single Ukrainian soldier crossed the border, they would go to war with Russian troops.
“I hope they don’t go to war,” Zelenski said. “If they enter, we will fight and we will survive,” he said. Zelenski also said it would be a “big mistake” to use Belarusian territory so that Russian forces can attack once again.
Russian forces began an all-out invasion of Ukraine 12 months ago, advancing south towards the capital, Kiev, but retreating within weeks after inflicting heavy losses.
When asked if he was surprised by Russia’s war tactics, Zelensky described him as “worthless”.
Zelenski “Methods of destroying everything. “If their soldiers take these orders and implement them, it shows that they share the same values,” he said.
“UKRAINE FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL”
Russian troops in Ukraine are suffering the worst casualties since the first week of the invasion this month, according to data released by Ukraine this week. These data have not been independently verified, but the UK Ministry of Defense has stated that the trends are “probably” correct.
Zelensky said, “Our survival today is our unity,” and when asked how the war would end, he said, “I believe Ukraine is fighting for survival.”
Zelenski also stated that his country is moving towards Europe in terms of both economics and values. “We make millions of concessions every day. The issue is to whom it is given. To Putin? No. Because there is no trust. Dialogue with him? No. Because there is no trust,” he said.
