Founded in 2009 by Richard Vrie in Eindhoven, Luxexcel started to serve as a company that focused on transparent materials produced with a 3D printer in the first place. Luxexcel, which has changed its focus over the years, is currently producing smart lenses for use in glasses.
To remind you, Meta is among the most important players in the virtual and augmented reality glasses market, along with the Quest 2 and Quest Pro models. On the subject of smart glasses, Meta, which cooperated with Ray-Ban, offered the glasses named Ray-Ban Stories for sale in 2021.
Aiming to grow rapidly in the field of virtual – augmented reality and smart glasses technologies with the acquisitions it has made, Meta can use Luxexcel’s smart lenses in other devices it has developed. According to the allegations, Meta and Luxexcel previously worked together on Meta’s Aria project .
